Sports Massage is a deep soft-tissue manipulation. It aids recovery between training sessions, assists in avoiding potential overuse injury and speeds recovery. It promotes the healing of soft-tissue injury and by breaking down scar tissue it prevents further injury. It can improve muscle function and tone and relaxes muscles by reducing muscle tension. Pre and post event treatments are also available. It is effective as a maintenance treatment too.


Injuries can be assessed by the Sports Therapists and treated accordingly. A range of treatment methods can be used, including: massage, soft tissue mobilisation, strapping/taping, electro-therapy, assisted flexibility and exercises. Rehabilitation exercises can be advised and programmes can be designed. Referrals to specialists will be advised if necessary.


Rehabilitation programmes can help client progression back to normal function and return to sport post injury. They will include elements of strength, fitness, mobility, proprioception, core stability and flexibility over a period of time. They can also be sport specific. Clients can do one-to-one sessions with the therapists in our clinic rehab gym or in water at local pools.


This includes rehabilitation work in water for clients post-injury or for fitness gains pre-land based training. Swim lessons for beginners (young or old), stroke improvement, fitness work and water confidence sessions in local pools, can also be booked one-to-one with the therapists.
